Why skincare needs self-care

Skincare without self-care can be ineffective. Here is why we believe the woman behind the skin matters as much as the products.

Why skincare needs self-care

Many of us have a skincare routine we are proud of. We cleanse, we moisturise, we are consistent. And still the breakouts return.

That is when it helps to look a little deeper. Skin does not live in isolation: it responds to stress, sleep, what we eat and drink, and how much we move. When life is heavy, our skin often shows it first.

Three small habits that support your skin

  • Sleep. Aim for a regular bedtime. Your skin repairs itself while you rest.
  • Water. Keep a bottle with you and sip through the day.
  • Pause. Take five quiet minutes daily, to breathe, pray or simply sit still.

Then keep your routine simple

A gentle cleanser, a good moisturiser and an oil you enjoy is enough for most skin. Consistency matters more than constantly switching products.
