Our Journey
Nakisa Skincare began with one purpose: to help women care for their skin through simple, effective skincare inspired by the richness of Africa. Founded in West Africa, Nakisa was created to address everyday skin concerns such as acne, dark marks, irritation, hyperpigmentation, pregnancy mask and the frustration of trying product after product without finding a routine that worked.
Some women were doing everything right. They were following their routines and using their products consistently. Yet weeks or months later, the same issues would return. So I started asking deeper questions, and the answers changed everything. Skincare without self-care can be ineffective.
I began to realise that recurring skin issues can sometimes be influenced by factors such as poor stress management, inadequate sleep, poor eating habits, insufficient water intake and a lack of physical activity. This realisation has shaped Nakisa into what it is today: a skincare brand that also recognises the importance of self-care, wellness and the woman behind the skin.
Sometimes it's not just your skin
As women shared their stories, a common thread began to emerge: stress. Stress from relationships, from work, from parenting, from carrying responsibilities, expectations and emotional burdens. Stress doesn't just affect how we feel. It affects how we age, our hormones, inflammation, sleep and ultimately our skin.
Sometimes the body is simply revealing what the soul has been carrying.
Why we offer more than products
At Nakisa, we believe in safe skincare products, consistency, healthy skin and simple skincare routines that women can maintain. However, if a customer is doing everything right and the same issues continue to return, we believe it's worth looking deeper. That is why we offer wellness coaching rooted in Biblical principles and practical guidance. Not because every skincare concern requires coaching, but because some women need more than another product. She needs support. She needs encouragement. She needs someone to remind her to care for herself too.
